Your Past Should Not Define Your Future

TLH Nonprofit Organization provides comprehensive reentry and life-stabilization support throughout the SouthCoast and South Shore of Massachusetts helping individuals overcome barriers, build stability, access opportunity, and create a stronger future.

Who We Are

Transforming Lives Through Reentry Support

TLH Nonprofit Organization is a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New Bedford, dedicated to helping individuals successfully reenter society after incarceration.

We provide a comprehensive range of services including housing assistance, employment readiness, legal aid navigation, transportation support, and mentorship addressing the full spectrum of barriers our clients face.

Our work spans the SouthCoast and South Shore of Massachusetts, meeting people where they are and walking alongside them as they rebuild their lives.

We call the people we serve our Butterflies because like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, each person we work with is in the process of transformation, growth, and new beginnings.

At TLH, we believe every person deserves a second chance and the support to make the most of it.

Our Story

A Vision That Lives On

Troy Leon Harrigan, founder and inspiration of TLH Nonprofit Organization

Troy Leon Harrigan

Founder & Inspiration

TLH Nonprofit Organization was inspired by the life, vision, and experiences of Troy Leon Harrigan.

After experiencing wrongful incarceration and spending seven years behind bars, Troy returned home on August 4, 2022. His experience gave him a firsthand understanding of how difficult rebuilding life after incarceration can be from finding employment and reliable transportation to navigating housing, restoring stability, and simply being given another opportunity.

Troy believed deeply that a person's past should not determine their future. He envisioned an organization that would help individuals overcome the barriers he understood personally and provide the support, resources, guidance, and opportunities needed to successfully move forward.

Troy passed away on May 26, 2023, before he could fully bring that vision to life.

But his vision didn't end there.

On June 4, 2024, Troy Leon Harrigan Nonprofit Organization was officially incorporated in Massachusetts, carrying forward the work Troy envisioned.

Today, TLH continues to transform that vision into action walking alongside individuals as they rebuild their lives, regain stability, discover opportunities, and create new beginnings.

Every Butterfly we serve is part of Troy's continuing legacy.
